Plant and labour scheduling software in Wales

UpRate helps hire desk managers organise plant and labour assignments against agreed customer work. Review the schedule, amend allocated resources when dates change and keep timesheets with the assignment. Choose Resource Manager in Standard or Professional to connect the working plan with the contract instead of maintaining a separate resource spreadsheet.

FREE entry covers customers and hire contracts. Scheduling and invoicing require the appropriate paid package.

See the working schedule

Bring plant and labour records into Resource Manager and view assignments on the schedule before confirming the next job.

Amend the actual assignment

Change dates or allocated resources when the customer changes the work. Review the affected bookings rather than assuming the old allocation still applies.

Collect the work record

Keep timesheets with scheduled resources. The office can review what was recorded against the assignment before preparing the next handoff.

Two Welsh jobs with separate road arrangements

Illustrative workflow: The same desk schedules a North Wales assignment and a South Wales job during one week.

  1. Confirm the agreed hire

Review each contract’s site and agreed dates rather than assuming the delivery arrangements are interchangeable.

  2. Review the allocation

Confirm the responsible operator’s route and arrival arrangements separately, then review asset and labour allocations.

  3. Keep the work connected

Amend any affected booking and collect the actual work timesheets for each assignment.

A practical check for Wales

A shared weekly schedule should not hide two different transport arrangements. Traffic Wales distinguishes the North/Mid Wales and South Wales trunk-road agents, and local roads may belong to other authorities. For jobs in both parts of Wales, ask the operator which network is involved in each delivery and who will confirm any movement change. Do not transfer one job’s access assumptions onto the other simply because the same machine or crew is used. Review the confirmed dates and allocations in UpRate, including any knock-on change to labour. Record the work that actually happened. Resource Manager does not optimise routes, submit notices or guarantee that planned travel between assignments is possible.

Questions before you start.

Will UpRate guarantee that bookings cannot clash?

No guarantee is made. The schedule and assignments help the hire desk review allocations. Availability checks, travel allowances, site arrangements and decisions about the suitability of people and equipment still require human review.

Are timesheets a separate add-on?

Timesheet collection is included with Resource Manager in Standard and Professional. Standard has no invoicing; Professional includes all three modules. Business has invoicing but no resource scheduling or timesheets.

Does one Welsh transport process cover both assignments?

Do not assume that. Check the road owner and relevant North/Mid or South Wales arrangements for each movement. UpRate’s shared schedule is not a shared permit or route approval.
