Plant hire software in Scotland

UpRate helps plant hire company owners and hire desk managers keep customers, hire contracts, plant, labour and invoices connected. Start with the agreed job, review the resource allocation and carry the work into the office handoff. Choose the modules your team needs rather than managing each stage in a disconnected spreadsheet.

FREE entry covers customers and hire contracts. Scheduling and invoicing require the appropriate paid package.

Keep the job together

Customer, site and hire contract details give the office a common starting point. Amend the record rather than relying on a separate spreadsheet.

Allocate people and plant

Resource Manager brings asset and labour assignments onto the schedule, with timesheets kept alongside the work.

Carry details into invoicing

Invoice Manager keeps the contract connected to invoice preparation, so accounts can review the job behind the charges.

An Edinburgh entrance change

Illustrative workflow: An Edinburgh site changes its delivery entrance after the machine has been allocated.

  1. Confirm the agreed hire

Check the customer’s contract, site details and agreed hire period before confirming the revised entrance.

  2. Review the allocation

Have the responsible people confirm vehicle access and street arrangements, then review the plant and labour assignment.

  3. Keep the work connected

Keep the amendment with the job and review recorded work before the invoice handoff where included.

A practical check for Scotland

The entrance matters as much as the site name when a delivery changes. Scotland’s LEZ guidance covers four city-centre zones, with vehicle and council-specific checks; an exemption is not something to infer from a booking. Edinburgh also publishes road-occupation guidance for work involving its public streets. Ask whether the new entrance changes the approach, delivery timing or responsibilities for access, and who can confirm those arrangements. Keep the agreed site details with the contract, then update the allocation after the operator and customer have settled the practical decisions. These checks happen outside UpRate. The software does not test emissions, obtain a temporary exemption or grant permission to occupy a road.

Compare packages and capacity

Questions before you start.

Does every package include scheduling?

No. Essential covers customers and hire contracts. Standard adds scheduling and timesheets; Professional adds invoicing too. Business combines customers, contracts and invoices without scheduling.

Can I start with customers and contracts?

Yes. Essential is FREE within the current allowance of 20 new customers and 120 new sales contracts per month. Choose your monthly additions, resources and team members on the pricing section before selecting a paid package.

Does UpRate check Scottish LEZ exemptions?

No. Check the actual vehicle, zone and any council-specific approval externally. UpRate keeps customer, contract and allocation records; it does not validate an exemption.
