Plant and labour scheduling software in Scotland

UpRate helps hire desk managers organise plant and labour assignments against agreed customer work. Review the schedule, amend allocated resources when dates change and keep timesheets with the assignment. Choose Resource Manager in Standard or Professional to connect the working plan with the contract instead of maintaining a separate resource spreadsheet.

FREE entry covers customers and hire contracts. Scheduling and invoicing require the appropriate paid package.

See the working schedule

Bring plant and labour records into Resource Manager and view assignments on the schedule before confirming the next job.

Amend the actual assignment

Change dates or allocated resources when the customer changes the work. Review the affected bookings rather than assuming the old allocation still applies.

Collect the work record

Keep timesheets with scheduled resources. The office can review what was recorded against the assignment before preparing the next handoff.

A Central Belt movement-dependent booking

Illustrative workflow: A Central Belt engineering-plant assignment depends on a separately confirmed movement date.

  1. Confirm the agreed hire

Check the contract dates and what the site expects before treating the transport plan as final.

  2. Review the allocation

Have the operator confirm the movement arrangements, then amend asset and labour allocations if arrival changes.

  3. Keep the work connected

Review affected assignments and collect the actual work timesheet for the office handoff.

A practical check for Scotland

A plant movement and a resource allocation are connected decisions, but they are not the same approval. Police Scotland publishes abnormal-load guidance; the responsible operator must check requirements for the actual vehicle, load and journey. Scottish city-centre LEZ guidance is another separate check where the route or destination makes it relevant. Ask whether a changed arrival affects the operator’s booked period, site acceptance or another assignment, and who will confirm the final movement plan. Use that agreed date when updating the schedule. Keep the recorded work with the assignment rather than assuming the planned hours were worked. UpRate does not notify the police, choose an approved route or assess escort and bridge requirements.

Questions before you start.

Will UpRate guarantee that bookings cannot clash?

No guarantee is made. The schedule and assignments help the hire desk review allocations. Availability checks, travel allowances, site arrangements and decisions about the suitability of people and equipment still require human review.

Are timesheets a separate add-on?

Timesheet collection is included with Resource Manager in Standard and Professional. Standard has no invoicing; Professional includes all three modules. Business has invoicing but no resource scheduling or timesheets.

Can Resource Manager notify an abnormal-load movement?

No. The responsible operator must use the relevant external processes. Resource Manager organises the confirmed allocation and timesheets; it does not approve routes or send movement notifications.
