The easiest way to remove assignments is to click on the assignment on the scheduler, deselect any dates you want to unassign, and save the changes.

For longer-lasting assignments this would be very time-consuming, there is a workaround that you can use instead detailed below. An example based on the Hawks data is also shown below.

Remove Long-Term Assignments

If you have created a long-term assignment and want to remove lots of assigned dates at the same time there is a workaround that can be used. You can use the 'Create Long-Term Assignment' feature to overwrite the dates that are assigned as follows:

1. Go to the scheduler

2. Find the assignment that you want to remove

3. Right-click on the assignment

4. Choose the "Create Long-Term Assignment" option - this will bring the Long-Term Assignment panel into view with the contract already selected

5. Deselect all the weekdays under the Assignment Schedule section (so no days should be selected Mon-Sun)

6. Set the "Start" date to the date from which you want to delete the assignment

7. Update the "lasting for" input to span the full length of time that you want to remove the assignment

8. Click the "Proceed & Schedule" button

9. This will remove any assignments from the start date over the chosen duration for that resource, essentially you are telling the app to "schedule the resource onto this contract for 0 days per week over the next X days/weeks/months, starting on DD/MM/YY", this will overwrite any existing assignments over that period, meaning the assignment that you want to remove - in addition to any others! - will be removed

Hawks Example

This is an example of how this could be done to remove Adam Blagg's "0062 - LR1160 - Godington West" assignment on the Hawks Worker Scheduler:

1. Go to the Hawks Worker Scheduler

   

2. Find the row for Adam Blagg and then find his "0062 - LR1160 - Godington West" assignment (red highlights in screenshot below)

   

3. Right click on the assignment from step 2 and then choose the "Create Long-Term Assignment" option

   

4. Deselect all the weekdays on the Long-Term Assignment panel, set the start date from which you want to remove the assignment, and update the "lasting for" input to cover the full length of time you want to remove the assignment

   

5. Click the "Proceed & Schedule" button

6. This will remove the "0062 - LR1160 - Godington West" assignment every day for 5 months from 2nd July 2025
